Purchase, or Transfer, of Exclusive Rights to Burial in a Grave or Cremation Plot
From June 2015:-
a) For the exclusive right of burial in an earthen grave for a period of one hundred years Parishioner £ 80.00, Non Parishioner £600.00
b) As a) above but for cremated remains Parishioner £ 50.00, Non Parishioner £400.00
Please note that the purchase of exclusive rights does not confer title to the land occupied by the grave or cremation plot, but the right to be buried there. Exclusive rights last for 100 years from the date of purchase and maybe surrendered at any time on return of the deed to the Parish Council Office.
Please note that we can only accept payment by cash or cheques only. We are unable to accept debit or credit card payments.
Interment
From June 2015:
a) For the interment of the body of a stillborn or a child whose age at the time of death did not exceed one year £ 15.00
b) For the interment of the body of a child whose age at the time of death did not £ 25.00 exceed 14 years
c) For the interment of the body of any other person - Parishioner £ 75.00, Non Parishioner £400.00
d) For the interment of cremated remains at casket depth Parishioner £ 50.00, Non Parishioner £300.00
Headstones and Memorials
From June 2015:-
a) For the right to erect a headstone not exceeding 2'6" in height on a grave for £60.00 for which the Exclusive Right of Burial has been granted
b) For the right to place a vase on a grave for which the Exclusive Right of £ 30.00 burial has been granted. (Vase to be easily removable for maintenance purposes)
c) Additional inscriptions £ 20.00
Please note that headstones, vases, and other monuments must be approved by the Parish Council prior to erection. Proposed inscriptions must also be approved. Send details of your proposed monument and/or inscription (including dimensions and drawings or photographs) to the Clerk at 18 Brookside, Barkby, Leicester, LE7 3QD.
